Narrative description of the project

To ensure effective implementation of the 2010-2014 Action Plan, and to achieve the results described in the Strategy for Growth and Poverty Reduction, the Government of the Union of the Comoros adopted as a priority the capacity building in development management of executives from central, sectoral and decentralized governments. This capacity building aims to increase the absorption capacity, efficient use of resources and the proper management of programs and projects. In this context the Institute has conducted three training sessions of two weeks on the following topics: i) Results-based management, planning and budgeting; ii) Public programs and projects management (with application on MS Project software); iii) Monitoring and evaluation of project execution and reporting. The participants were led in appropriating and applying the concepts and methods with practical exercises such as: realization of sector diagnosis, documentation of performance indicators, elaboration of a program budget, definition of a work structure on MS Project, developing an Annual Work Plan, and a monitoring and evaluation plan, etc…
