Narrative description of the project

As a public international institution involved in financing the development of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU), which aims to promote a “balanced development of member states and to achieve the economic integration of West Africa “, the West African Development Bank (WADB) is brought to finance priority projects aiming to economic development (particularly in the rural sector), infrastructure, telecommunications, energy, industry, transportation, agribusiness, tourism and other services. In order to better meet its objectives, the WADB organized a training on monitoring and evaluation of development projects and programs for the benefit of its executives.
The overall objective of the training was to strengthen the skills of the Bank’s executives in terms of: i) monitoring and evaluation of sectoral or development projects and programs, ii) impacts studies of development interventions, in the context of results-based management. More specifically, the training covered the following topics: (1) Concepts and tools for the results-based monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects, and integration of crosscutting themes in monitoring and evaluation’s mechanisms; (2) Monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects of public interventions; (3) Monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects in the private sector.
